The Author on KILLING RUMER
“I never thought I would write a supernatural crime thriller but then, a character busted her way into my brain and I just had to tell her story. Basically, Rumer Cross is my dark twin: she is moody, sarcastic, and badass while also being hugely vulnerable. You cannot trust a word she says which is always super-fun to write!”
“My idols have always been women, Buffy, Ripley, Sarah Conner. And while I would never dare to compare her to any of them, I hope that Rumer Cross is at least half as complicated and interesting to the public. When I was writing KILLING RUMER, I had a picture of Nancy from The Craft on my desktop and my mantra became ‘What would Nancy do?’. She was a huge inspiration for Rumer, alongside Jessica Jones and Lisbeth Salander.”
“Crowdfunding is an awesomely rewarding and tricky way to get a book published. I have relied on the goodwill of my amazing family and friends to get me this far, and it is amazing when readers I have never met decide they like the sound of Rumer and pledge to the campaign. My goal is to get Rumer’s story told and every pledge nudges me a tiny bit closer to achieving that!”
